SUMMARY

Malibu Boats, Inc [MBI] has the clear and unwavering mission to provide the best-in-class boating experiences for our expanding family of recreational boaters, fishermen and water-sports enthusiasts. Our portfolio of eight brands is fueled by a bold vision of being the undisputed market leader in every segment in which we compete. MBI is steeped in a legacy of innovation, unrivaled craftsmanship, and the relentless pursuit of enduring customer satisfaction. With U.S. business operations in four locations across three states (TN, FL, KS), enterprise success comes from each’s commitment to quality in all we do and to a work environment where people can thrive both as teammates and as individuals. Company headquarters are located in Loudon,TN (outside of Knoxville) where this role will reside.

The Corporate Communications Specialist is a part-time role designed to advance MBI’s success by continuing to strengthen our company’s reputation and image. In the quest to enhance company culture, attract employees, spur investor confidence, and add cache to our brands, the Corporate Communications Specialist will help get our company stories crafted and told. The role will be responsible for executing internal and external communications as well as broader community engagement across all operating divisions with particular emphasis on our TN corporate office area.

Reporting to the VP of Sales & Marketing, the role will also interact with other company leaders (including Brand Marketing Directors, HR leaders, and Finance management) in architecting and implementing communications plans. Some prior experience in corporate communications, public relations, content design & development, and event management is needed. Occasional evenings or weekend days supporting events may be required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES The following describes the job and associated work tasks.

External Public Relations

  • Oversee the company’s website updates –requires integrating HR, Finance, and Marketing direction/needs and working with our website agency to execute.
  • Drive company social media efforts across platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Glassdoor.
  • Own the process of championing, aligning, and creating the submissions for annual industry recognition of employees; then design and place the Boating Industry recognition ad for winners (2 of these per year).
  • Serve as a company spokesperson if/when called upon.

Internal Employee Communications & Support

  • Own the content, design, and distribution of monthly internal company newsletters.
  • Assist HR in employee attraction efforts including recruiting materials and job fairs.
  • Support executives in being supplied with corporate tools such as business cards, head shots, and bios.

Community Engagement

  • Lead the process of local-level sponsorship approvals in the Loudon, TN area using a set of established criteria to be sufficiently selective and principled. Ensure that high-quality company and/or brand visibility is delivered in exchange for sponsorship fees.
  • Help build the company reputation in our local communities – includes driving visibility and storytelling around philanthropic endeavors and ensuring our organizations are appropriately represented at local events.

Investor Relations

  • Work with MBI’s external IR agency to help shape and execute areas of investor communications.
  • Work with the Finance department to produce the company’s Annual Report which goes to the SEC and shareholders.
  • Help with the planning for Investor Day events and other corporate press conferences.

Dealer Support

  • Assist in multi-brand or corporate communications undertaken with our network of dealers. Examples include: a) our Customer Excellence dealer credentialing program where annual recognition certificates need to be produced; and b) providing materials when a corporate presence is needed like at Dealer Week and the International Boat Builders' Exhibition and Conference (IBEX).
