Description

Summary

The quality inspector is responsible for the overall quality of the boat. This person insures that all options and functions are checked and operate correctly along with insuring the boat meets the cosmetic criteria and regulatory standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Report to work on time and stay in good standings with Malibu attendance policy
  • Perform the inspection required at the specific checkpoint and enter results in the data collection software
  • Must have the ability to be cross trained in all inspection points which may include but are not limited to:
    • Vital to Quality (safety) verification
    • Regulatory verification
    • Functional verification
    • Cosmetic verification
    • Ensure all options in boat
    • On-the-water function and performance verification (Lake Test)
  • Must be able to provide audits in all areas to support improvement activities
  • Must be team oriented, able to interact positively, and contribute to positive morale in the department
  • Must possess the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
  • Maintain a clean and organized workplace
  • All duties must be performed in accordance with Malibus safety policies and procedures
  • Other duties may be assigned.


Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 yrs of manufacturing experience
  • Basic computer skills are required

Language Skills:

  • Proficient in speaking and writing of English

Mathematical Skills:

  • General base knowledge

Reasoning Ability:

  • Be able to understand the effects of the decisions made on the quality of the product to the customer

Other Qualifications:

  • Must be self motivated and be able to work without constant supervision
  • Valid Tennessee drivers license
  • Valid Tennessee boaters safety certificate (or are born prior to Jan 1, 1989)
  • General knowledge of operating power tools and hand tools safety

Typical 10 hour work days, frequent overtime required.
