Summary:

A pre-eminent innovator in the powerboat industry, Malibu Boats, Inc. (MBUU) designs and manufactures products that appeal to an expanding range of recreational boaters, fisherman and water sports enthusiasts whose passion for boating is a key component of their active lifestyles. Our current brands include Malibu, Axis, Cobalt, Pursuit, Cobia, Pathfinder, Maverick, and Hewes.

As a Sr. Business Analyst, Corporate Development, you will be responsible for conducting market/industry research, financial analysis, company due diligence, and strategic planning to support the company's growth initiatives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and evaluate potential mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and/or other strategic growth opportunities.

In addition to Corporate Development, this role, on an interim basis, will support our Sales Organization, focused on market (dealer) development and sales operations.

Your data-driven insights and recommendations will be instrumental in driving the company's expansion and maintaining its competitive edge.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

List the job’s essential or most important functions and responsibilities. Include all important aspects for the job whether performed daily weekly, monthly, or annually and any that occur at irregular intervals.

  • Perform market research (consumer, dealer, segment) and competitive analysis
  • Analyze strategic growth initiatives and potential M&A transactions to support senior leadership in making key decisions
  • Construct detailed financial models and valuation analysis
  • Assist with all aspects of due diligence, including identifying and quantifying sources of synergies and risk, and summarizing findings for the senior executive team
  • Draft investment memos, presentations and recommendations for all stages of the deal process (sourcing to integration planning)
  • Assist with the development of board materials outlining broader strategic goals and specific strategic initiatives
  • Develop and maintain internal tools, governance and processes for tracking all active, inactive, and closed deal activities and performance of venture investments

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business or a related field
  • Prior corporate development, M&A, investment banking and/or consulting experience is preferred
  • Three to five years related experience

Qualifications:

  • Financial due diligence (Transaction Services / Quality of Earnings) or operational consulting experience a plus
  • Extensive experience with financial modeling and business analysis
  • Track record of excellence in prior endeavors
  • Demonstrated ability to work well on small teams
  • Superior analytical and quantitative skills
  • Strong writing, presentation and research abilities
  • Highly motivated and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail and sense of urgency
  • Intellectual curiosity combined with strong work ethic
  • Team player with positive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to “manage up”
