Description

Summary: The Project Manager supports both the department and specific initiatives by ensuring the development and deployment of a project plan to ensure successful implementations. The Project Manager will work cross-functionally with other assets within the department and within our customer business units. This position will monitor and document team progress, identify and mitigate risk to the project and act as a conduit for communications amongst a variety of constituents.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops, revises, maintains, monitors, coordinates and executes project implementation plans
  • Coordinates with category managers, data analysts and other assets to develop project plans and drive overall priority for each project
  • Coordinates with business unit assets regarding engineering, quality and manufacturing validation testing as well as overall project implementation
  • Tracks and reports progress to milestones, makes adjustments as required to defend against creep
  • Develops, revises, maintains, monitors, coordinates and executes project budgets
  • Identifies risk (potential and actual) and implements appropriate mitigation strategies and tactics
  • Identifies risk associated with implementation
  • Ensures and promotes co-operation and communication between internal stakeholders, across participating entities
  • Utilizes project tracking tools to ensure timely project execution
  • Works as a member of a cross functional team
  • • Documents performance to action plans and timelines for assigned sourcing projects
  • • Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Very strong project management skills
  • Highly organized with refined time management skills
  • Ability to lead, facilitate, guide projects and initiatives
  • Understanding of basic supply chain principles, processes, tools and practices.
  • Understanding of business operations and financial impacts through the supply chain.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with and lead individuals and teams at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to read and interpret business documents, specifications, drawings and data.
  • Knowledge of general business computer software and aptitude to learn new software applications.
  • Background experience in project management roles in the fields of engineering and/or supply chain is desired but is not required

Education and/or Experience:

  • A minimum of an Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certification as a project management professional, or equivalent, from a recognized formal training institute; or completion of a similar course of study

Language Skills:

  • Strong communications skills in a variety of mediums.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical documents, reports, data, procedures, or governmental regulations in English.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, electronic mail, work instructions and procedures, as examples, in English.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, suppliers, internal customers and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to effectively conduct meetings in person and with technology assistance.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute data using standardized and complicated formulae.
  • Ability to calculate volumes, quantities, discounts, proportions, percentages, etc.
  • Ability to make calculations such as discounts, freight estimates, dimensional weight, invoices, and percentages.
  • Ability to utilize data to make business decisions.
  • Ability to perform calculations, comparisons and operations using different currencies and units of measure.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
