Cloud Network Security Engineer (Azure Focus) – Contract-to-Hire

Knoxville, TN (Onsite)

We are seeking a hands-on Network Security Engineer to join a large enterprise environment supporting both campus infrastructure and cloud networking initiatives. This role is focused on Azure networking and will play a key part in ongoing cloud and network modernization efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support enterprise network infrastructure across on-prem and cloud environments
• Build and manage Azure networking components (VNets, routing, connectivity)
• Configure and support firewalls, VPNs, and secure network access
• Troubleshoot network and connectivity issues across hybrid environments
• Support ongoing network upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure improvements

Required Experience

• Experience working with Azure networking in a hands-on capacity
• Strong foundation in networking (routing, switching, DNS, TCP/IP)
• Experience with firewalls and network security concepts
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues
• Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of work

Preferred

• Experience in enterprise or campus-scale environments
• Knowledge of ExpressRoute, BGP, or hybrid cloud networking
• Experience with tools such as SolarWinds or similar monitoring platforms

Additional Details

• Onsite role to start, with potential for hybrid flexibility
• Participation in on-call rotation required
• 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity
