This Learning Consultant position designs and delivers pre-service and in-service training for TCSEPP managers and coordinators, grounded in a deep understanding of direct service delivery in human services, preferably within child support. This role ensures that training is engaging, relevant, and directly applicable to practice.

This position requires strong program and practice knowledge and comfort engaging with experienced practitioners and requires the ability to travel around the state to provide training.

This is a grant-funded position and is contingent upon the continued funding of the grant.

This Learning Consultant position designs and delivers pre-service and in-service training for TCSEPP managers and coordinators, grounded in a deep understanding of direct service delivery in human services, preferably within child support. This role ensures that training is engaging, relevant, and directly applicable to practice.

Required Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in social work, Human Services, Training, or related field
  • Experience:
    • 3 or more years of experience designing and delivering training for adult learners in human services, public sector, or nonprofit environments (can be demonstrated as a formal trainer or as a responsibility of a program manager, team leader, coach, and/or mentor role)
    • Requires valid driver’s license and current auto insurance as well as ability to travel across state to deliver training programs.
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
    • Demonstrated experience developing training materials
    • Experience working with Subject Matter Experts in a training and learning context
    • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles
    • Ability to deliver engaging, experiential training for adults
    • Significant knowledge of direct service in human services
    • Proficiency or ability to quickly learn new systems including (Articulate, Canva, Office 365, Zoom for Webinars and AI tools)
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; Ability to work independently in a distributed, statewide environment
    • Strong facilitation skills for both in-person and virtual environments; Ability to facilitate learning across modalities (in-person, virtual, synchronous and asynchronous)
    • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with Subject Matter Experts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Master’s degree in social work, Human Services, Training, or related field
  • Experience:
    • Experience in direct service delivery related to child support
    • Experience working with statewide programs
    • Experience coordinating or coaching subject matter experts
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
    • Familiarity with trauma-informed and strengths-based practice approaches
    • Knowledge of direct service in child support or a closely related system

Work Location

  • Location: This position is remote but requires candidate to live in Tennessee and travel across the state of Tennessee to deliver training

Compensation and Benefits

  • UT market range: 08
  • Anticipated hiring range: $63,000.00 to $69,768.00

  • Design and deliver TCSEPP pre-service training for new managers and coordinators
  • Designs training materials, job aids, and technical documentation tailored to TCSEPP field-based professionals. Ensure training content reflects:
    • TCSEPP practice model
    • Policies and procedures
    • Real-world service delivery challenges
  • Facilitate engaging learning experiences using adult learning and experiential methods
  • Design and deliver in-service trainings on program-related topics for adult learners across multiple modalities (in-person,
  • virtual, synchronous, asynchronous).
  • Identify when subject matter expertise is needed beyond internal capacity and:
    • Identify appropriate SMEs
    • Coordinate with SMEs to ensure high-quality learning experiences
  • Facilitates learning sessions that promote engagement, reflection, and practical application of concepts
  • Utilizes platforms and learning tools such as Zoom, Articulate, Canva, and Microsoft Teams to create and deliver high-quality training experiences.
  • Use AI tools ethically to support content development, scenario creation, and efficiency.
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) Coordination
  • Meet with SMEs prior to scheduled trainings to:
    • Share information about the TCSEPP audience and learner needs
    • Support slide development and instructional design
    • Ensure content aligns with adult learning principles and TCSEPP practice
  • Provide logistical and technical support, including:
    • Learning platform setup
    • Zoom for Webinars configuration
    • Training materials preparation
  • Gather and review training feedback
  • Use evaluation data to refine and improve training content and delivery
  • Collaborate with CQI and program leadership to align training with emerging needs
  • Participate in statewide learning initiatives and communities of practice
  • Support cross-functional learning efforts within TCSEPP
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
