This position is responsible for engaging and converting highly qualified applicants and admitted students - particularly the most academically accomplished students in Tennessee - to the prestigious Global Fellows, Catalyst Fellows, and Summitt Fellows honors programs, and in partnership with the Haslam College of Business, to the Discovery Experience. This position will plan and execute personalized engagement, high-impact campus experiences, and premier yield events.

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree

Experience:

  • Two years of professional experience in recruitment, admissions, honors education, student success initiatives, sales, marketing or a related area

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to engage effectively with high-achieving and academically elite students

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment

  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and support student employees

  • Professional judgment and interpersonal skills for working with diverse stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

Experience:

  • Experience in higher education, K–12 education, or a related field
  • Experience in admissions, recruitment, or student-facing roles
  • Knowledge of the college recruitment process
  • Experience using Enrollment Management software, particularly Slate

Compensation and Benefits

  • UT market range: MR8
  • Anticipated hiring range: Minimum $49,000

Elite Admissions, Engagement, and Visit Experience (60%)

  • Design and implement individualized, high-touch, VIP campus visit experiences including faculty meetings, academic immersion opportunities, class visits, and curated campus programming aligned with student academic interests
  • Identify and engage with students and families through one-on-one visits and virtual events
  • Curate and execute premier admitted student yield events
  • Partner with Enrollment Management to represent honors at university-wide recruiting and yield events (Big Orange Preview, New Vol Roll Call)

Data analysis and communication (20%)

  • Analyze admissions data, identify trends, and develop recommendations on actions to improve and attract students
  • Utilizes query functions in Enrollment Management software to identify prospects
  • Develops communication strategy to convert prospects to applicants, applicants to admitted students, and yield those students for elite honors programs
  • Develops communication for applicants, admitted students, and families regarding engagement opportunities, honors pathway options, and enrollment decision timelines
  • Uses Enrollment Management software to manage engagement, communication, and follow-up with applicants and admitted students

Elite Honors Ambassadors Program Leadership (15%)

  • Develop strategy for the role of Elite Honors Ambassadors in recruiting and yield programs
  • Develop job descriptions, interview applicants, and select ambassadors
  • Develop and implement initial and on-going training for Elite Honors Ambassadors
  • Provide end-of-semester evaluations for all Honors Ambassadors
  • Monitor and approves payroll in a timely manner
  • Teach UNHO 107 Course for Elite Ambassadors

Strategic Collaboration & Program Support (5%)

  • Collaborate with Enrollment Management, the Division of Student Success, and campus partners to support admitted-student engagement and honors enrollment initiatives.
  • Contribute to broader University Honors programming and perform additional duties that support honors enrollment and student success goals.
  • Other duties as assigned: Perform additional responsibilities that support University Honors enrollment goals, student success priorities, and institutional strategy.
