The College of Veterinary Medicine invites applicants to apply for the temporary position of Health Information Clerk 2, located within the Veterinary Medical Center. Required Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED
- Experience: 1 year of relevant experience. Must be at least 18 years of age.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to create and modify spreadsheets for tracking data and departmental workflows.
- Working knowledge of Excel functions including sorting, filtering, basic formulas, and data organization.
- Ability to generate routine reports and track productivity metrics using Excel.
- Ability to identify minor data discrepancies and correct errors.
- Strong working knowledge of electronic medical record systems.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze information and resolve moderately complex issues.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without need now or in the future for sponsorship for employment-based visa status.

About The College
The UT College of Veterinary Medicine (UTCVM), located in Knoxville, was established by an act of the Tennessee Legislature in 1974 and is part of the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture.

- Conducts detailed record analysis to ensure documentation completeness and compliance.
- Verifies accuracy and validity of data entered into the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Tracks and monitors outstanding deficiencies; follows up with clinicians as needed.
- Assists with maintaining data integrity across electronic systems.
- Identifies workflow inefficiencies and recommends improvements.
- Maintains strict confidentiality of patient and client information
- Maintains and reconciles departmental census reports, ensuring alignment between EMR data and internal tracking systems.
- Reviews census discrepancies and resolves data inconsistencies.
- Processes internal and external Release of Information requests.
- Supports onboarding and training of new clerical staff.
- Assists in compiling basic productivity and workload reports, including census-related metrics.
- Provides advanced customer service support for escalated inquiries.
