The purpose of this position is to ensure the effective administration, configuration, and continuous improvement of UTFI’s Salesforce CRM platform in support of advancement operations and organizational goals. This role will partner with stakeholders across UTFI to understand business needs, develop and implement scalable Salesforce solutions, maintain system and data integrity, troubleshoot complex issues, and enhance the overall user experience. The University of Tennessee Foundation, Inc (UTFI) invites applications and nominations to fill the position of Salesforce Administrator, for the University of Tennessee Foundation (UTFI), Advancement Services team. Reporting to the Executive Director of CRM, the Salesforce Administrator is responsible for the administration, configuration, optimization, and ongoing support of UTFI’s Salesforce CRM platform to ensure reliable system performance, data integrity, and an effective user experience in support of advancement operations.
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, Business Information Systems, or a related field.
2 to 4 years of experience administering Salesforce or supporting enterprise business to applications, CRM platforms, or related systems. An equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant experience will be considered.
Salesforce Administrator Certification is preferred, or active pursuit of certification with a commitment to obtain within the first year.
Working knowledge of CRM administration, including users, security, objects, reports, dashboards, page layouts, and automation.
Experience troubleshooting technical issues and providing outstanding customer support.
Understanding of relational data concepts, including object relationships, lookup and master-detail relationships, record identifiers, and the impact of data-model decisions on reporting and automation.
Familiarity with data management, including import/export, validation rules, deduplication, and field-level data integrity.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and work collaboratively in a team environment.
A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is required due to travel responsibilities of the position. UTFI reserves the right to consider all appropriate circumstances. In general, any significant driving offense less than 12 months old will eliminate the application from consideration for the position.
Preferred Education and Experience
In addition to meeting the required qualifications, the preferred candidate will have:
Masters's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, Business Information Systems, or a related field.
Experience working with Salesforce in a higher education, nonprofit, healthcare, or other mission-driven organization.
Experience with the Kindsight managed package.
Experience with Sales Cloud, Salesforce Flow, Lightning Reports & Dashboards, and approval processes.
Experience participating in software testing, change management, or application implementation projects.

Exercise independent discretion and professional judgment in assigned areas of Salesforce administration, including evaluating business requirements, selecting appropriate declarative solutions, assessing system and data impacts, and determining when issues require escalation for architectural, development, security, or vendor-level review.
Administer and maintain the Salesforce CRM environment and related advancement technologies, including user setup, licenses, profiles, permission sets, roles, sharing settings, and other security controls.
Configure and enhance Salesforce using declarative tools, including custom objects and fields, page layouts, record types, validation rules, Lightning apps, reports, dashboards, and approval processes.
Build, test, document, deploy, and maintain Salesforce Flow automations that improve fundraising and advancement business processes.
Provide timely, customer-focused user support to Foundation staff and campus partners; investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve access, data, configuration, reporting, and system-functionality issues.
Exercise independent judgment in Salesforce product administration by evaluating enhancement requests, recommending priorities for the enhancement roadmap and backlog, monitoring Salesforce releases and managed-package updates, identifying opportunities for optimization, and communicating the operational impact of planned improvements to the Salesforce ecosystem.
Partner directly with Foundation and campus stakeholders to analyze requirements, translate business needs into scalable Salesforce solutions, determine appropriate configuration approaches, coordinate user acceptance testing, and guide change-management activities for assigned enhancements.
Develop and maintain user documentation, training materials, and knowledge resources; deliver end-user guidance and contribute to continuous platform improvement, release readiness, and Salesforce governance.
Administer, configure, review releases for, and independently evaluate opportunities to optimize the Kindsight managed package and other integrated advancement technologies. Diagnose package and integration issues, determine appropriate resolution paths within the position's authority, and engage senior technical resources or vendors when issues require architectural, development, or vendor-level intervention.
