The University of Tennessee is seeking a highly organized and collaborative Production Manager to
oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of interactive learning and digital course
development projects. This position will lead production workflows for Jumpstart initiatives and
other large-scale instructional development projects while also contributing directly to the
development of Interactive Learning Objects (ILOs) and Interactive Learning Experiences (ILEs).

The Production Manager serves as a central operational lead within the Interactive Learning
Technologies(ILT) team. The primary responsibility in this role is to manage the day-to-day ILO
production schedule of the Jumpstart program. This role will work closely with Digital Learning’s
instructional design team and media studio team, while providing direct supervisory responsibility
to interactives developers and visual design team members. This role requires strong project
management capabilities combined with hands-on experience in online learning and educational
technology development.

Required Qualifications


Education:

  • Masters degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Education, Project Management, or related field


Experience:

  • Experience developing Interactive Learning Objects (ILOs) and Interactive Learning
  • Experiences (ILEs) in a Higher Education environment.
  • 2 years serving in a project lead capacity

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience with instructional design methodologies and online learning best practices
  • Experience with tools such as Articulate 360: Storyline and Rise, H5P, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (ADA/WCAG – POUR Framework)
  • Ability managing complex digital learning or multimedia production and multiple concurrent projects and deadlines
  • Experience developing online learning content within a LMS environment
  • Strong organizational, communication, and project coordination skills
  • Experience collaborating with internal cross-functional creative teams as well as SMEs, and other stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications


Education:

  • Masters degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Education, Project Management, or related field

Experience:

  • Build and implement interactive learning experiences to be used within Canvas LMS courses.
  • Experience with Canvas LMS integrations
  • Ability to design and develop simulations, virtual tours, scenario-based learning, assessments, branching interactions, and multimedia learning components
  • Ability to manage and develop pre-production materials such as flowcharts, storyboard/scripts for eLearning projects.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of UDL
  • Familiarity with multimedia production workflows and quality assurance processes
  • Strong leadership and coordination abilities
  • Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on production work
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, collaborative production environments
  • Adaptable and proactive in managing changing priorities

Compensation and Benefits

  • UT market range: MR 12
  • Anticipated hiring range: $80-$85k, depending on experience

Production & Project Management
• Lead production planning and execution for Jumpstart projects and large-scale interactive
learning initiatives
• Manage project timelines, deliverables, dependencies, and implementation schedules
• Coordinate workflows across instructional designers, developers, faculty, media studio

and Jumpstart objectives.
• Monitoring workload distribution, project priorities, and resource allocation to ensure team
effectiveness and successful project delivery.
• Conducting performance evaluations and support professional growth through coaching,
mentoring, and development planning.
• Serving as an advocate for the team while ensuring accountability, clear communication,
and alignment with organizational priorities. Foster a positive, collaborative problem-solving
and production efficiency working environment.
