Job Description

This job aims to classify, examine, and analyze accounting records, prepare related financial reports and statements for management, and handle the most complex aspects of an accounting role.

  1. Review and sign off on Journal Entries
  2. Review and approve reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness
  3. Perform general accounting activities including the preparation, maintenance, and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements such as balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements, and capital expenditure schedules
  4. Prepare, record, analyze, and report accounting transactions and ensure the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles
  5. Provide financial support, including forecasting, budgeting, and analyzing variations from budget
  6. Analyze and prepare statutory accounts, financial statements, and reports
  7. Conduct or assist in the documentation of accounting projects
  8. Perform special projects as assigned
  9. Compile, consolidate, and analyze accounting and finance information to produce financial statements and reports
  10. May coach, lead, or direct others’ work
  11. Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level
  12. Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  13. Complete other duties as assigned

The following additional duty may also be required:

  • Maintain, collect, and reconcile accounts payable or receivable ledger accounts, financial statements and reports
  • Prepare analyses and reconciliations to detect fraud
  • Respond to department-related inquiries via e-mail and phone call
  • Complete audit schedules to support internal and external requests
  • Review contracts and implement settlement processes
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting preferred
  • Minimum four years’ experience in accounting or related area required

Specialized Knowledge

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Familiarity with Lawson or general ledger (GL) accounting software preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) preferred
