In this role you will perform more complex accounting activities, implement solutions related to strategic initiatives, and serve as point of contact for Operations Accounting leadership related to departmental procedures, processes, and projects.
- Perform full cycle accounting activities for Parts and Service Solutions, a subsidiary of Pilot company, including but not limited to the preparation, maintenance, and reconciliation of ledger accounts, journal entry preparation, accounts receivable aging analysis, and month end activities
- Contribute to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures for PSS and Operations Accounting
- Design, plan and implement departmental standards and accounting procedures for SOX program. Monitor internal control processes of Operations Accounting teams to drive accountability and ensure compliance
- Review Operations Accounting teams’ journal entries and complete required approval documentation
- Review and approve monthly reconciliation of GL accounts in accordance with established polies and procedures. Research variances and ensure that all reconciling items are researched and resolved timely
- Perform other accounting duties and support other team members as required or assigned
- Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level
- Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
- Complete other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required
- Minimum four years of experience in accounting
- CPA preferred
Specialized Knowledge
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
- Familiarity with Lawson/S3 or general ledger (GL) accounting software preferred
- Knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
