Job Description

Bring your technical talent to our Pilot Team! Stay busy all year with our consistent workload. The purpose of this job is to perform installations, maintenance, and repairs of facility HVAC/R, food service equipment, plumbing, and electrical systems within our corporate office locations.

  • Respond to service requests; troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair based on warranty and industry standards.
  • Communicate with service tech supervisor to report repair status.
  • Proficiency working with 12v/24v controls, 120v/240v, and 277v/480v.
  • Inspect and troubleshoot electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, to identify the need for adjustment or repair(s), and to ensure compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes.
  • Diagnose electrical problems; install and rewire electrical components, troubleshoot, verify wiring diagrams and manuals reflect building updates. Check fuses/circuit breakers are in good physical condition and operating within its load level.
  • Knowledge and proficiency with power construction equipment, measuring devices, and power tools.
  • Testing equipment including circuit tracers, volt meters, amp clamps, ohmmeters, and Flir thermal camera.
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures to ensure compatibility and safety of the system.
  • Layout, install, repair, or replace electrical wiring, equipment, components, and fixtures using hand and power tools; based on job specifications, electrical drawings, and codes.
  • Knowledge and understanding of electrical blueprints and schematics.
  • Proficient in the repair, replacement, and installation of incandescent, halogen, fluorescent, and LED light fixtures; including bodines, and battery backups.
  • Knowledge and proficiency with layout and install of EMT conduit.
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections.
  • Operate various hand, power, and specialty tools to assist with office reconfigurations, installs, and user accommodations.
  • Assemble, move, and deconstruct prefabricated office equipment.
  • Perform troubleshooting and various repairs for HVAC/R, kitchen equipment, plumbing, and mechanical.
  • Utilize the internal work order tracking system while prioritizing work orders.
  • Provide groundskeeping services (as needed) to ensure sidewalks, entry ways and parking areas are cleared of debris, ice, and snow.
  • Monitor truck stock to ensure required parts are available.
  • Maintain service vehicle, tools, and uniforms in accordance with Pilot Flying J (PFJ) standards.
  • Ensure facility interiors and exteriors are inspected for safety and maintenance issues.
  • Ensure repairs, equipment, and work activities are performed in accordance with OSHA regulations.
  • Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent certificate required.
  • Trade or vocational school required.
  • Valid state driver's license and positive driving history required.
  • Minimum five year’s recent maintenance experience of commercial electrical systems required; certification required.
  • Basic knowledge, understanding, and ability to repair commercial electrical systems required.
  • Basic understanding of OSHA guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to collaborate with various departments.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Team player.
  • Ability to work in congested areas during business hours.
