Job Description

The purpose of this position is to serve as the subject matter expert on recruitment strategies and selection for the Foundation, working closely with hiring managers and units to effectively identify and address the staffing needs of each campus and institute. The selected candidate will oversee the entire recruitment lifecycle, including, but not limited to, creating brand awareness for UT and the UT Foundation throughout the application, selection, and offer processes.

Additionally, this role will manage professional programs designed to support recruitment, retention, and engagement, such as career tracks and development initiatives, "grow your own" programs, internships, and student programs.

Responsibilities

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Recruitment:

  • Implement strategic goals and maintain the UTFI Formal Recruitment Strategy, driving our award-winning Top Workplace UT Foundation to a continued recognized top best place to work, and for retention and engagement metrics of a talented workforce particularly exempt level positions.
  • Develop a portfolio of skilled candidates through networking, focused recruitment methods, and established professional relationships.
  • Manage recruitment tools, maintain outreach data, and coordinate with external contractors for leadership positions.
  • Source candidates via social media, networking events, job fairs, and industry tactics.
  • Review and pre-screen applicant documents in ATS, conduct preliminary interviews, and assess candidates using objective evaluation methods.
  • Maintain candidate statistics, provide data-driven insights to leadership, and ensure alignment of business needs.
  • Support all recruitment operations such as drafting job descriptions, preparing interview materials, and arranging interview coaching.
  • Provide compensation recommendations, initiate background/reference checks and document the hiring process.

Career Development Programs:

  • Develop and monitor progress of programs to drive development of personnel in support of retention and overall development. Programs include guideline parameters, objectives, evaluation and all relevant resources and materials for participants and units/institutes to meet UTFI personnel needs and/or prepare staff for advancement when opportunities are presented, assess program effectiveness and adjust as necessary.
  • Implement, assess, and adjust the Grow Your Own Program to support intentional development including defined requirements, assessment tools and curriculum in support of recruiting and development staff from entry level to full functional workforce member.

Engagement/Assessment:

  • Conduct stay surveys and exit interviews to assess placement success, drive feedback regarding engagement drivers, support identifying and responding to ways to improve or enhance ongoing practice.
  • Research and provide information to manage initiatives in support of and enhancing overall best practices for UTFI’s engagement driven focuses.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • The candidate who fills the Director of Talent Acquisition position is required to have:
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or related field
  • 5 or more years of experience in recruitment, talent management or related field
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in successful recruiting, screening, and placement of candidates
  • Demonstrated experience creating and implementing strategies to achieve desired objectives
  • Ability to travel to UTFI campuses statewide

A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is required due to travel responsibilities of the position. UTFI reserves the right to consider all appropriate circumstances. In general, any significant driving offense less than 12 months old will eliminate the application from consideration for the position.

Note - Candidates holding a graduate degree must have at least 3 years of experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

In addition to meeting the required qualifications, the preferred candidate will have:

  • Experience in professional leadership or recruitment or higher education environment
  • Effective negotiation skills, extensive knowledge of recruiting methods, best practices and using data base applicant tracking systems
