Institute for Nuclear Security in the Tickle College of Engineering located on the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK) campus, is seeking two Research Specialists interested in working in a team environment supporting an ongoing research program in ceramic processing, characterization, and testing. Responsibilities
Reporting to Assistant Professor Dr. Ivis Chaple Gore, the Research Specialist will be responsible for running laboratory experiments, work cooperatively with our material processing team, assist in data analysis, prepare data for reporting, and be involved with design of future experiments.
Since the position is to start in June 2025, applicants who are graduating in the spring of 2025 are eligible to apply
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in ceramic engineering, materials engineering, mining engineering, geology, or an earth and planetary science field.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Experience with processing, characterization, and analysis of non-metallic inorganic materials, particle size reduction and characterization, and good measurement practices.
