Job Description
The Haslam College of Business (HCB) at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, invites applications for a Marketing & Events Coordinator (Full-time, Non-exempt) in the Anderson Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation (ACEI). ACEI conducts multiple programs across campus in support of entrepreneurship and innovation. ACEI maintains two venues—the Anderson Center in the Haslam Business Building and the ACEI Business Accelerator in the UT Incubator—outfitted to encourage collaboration among student startup businesses. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, this position is responsible for being part of a team that provides social media and content development, various written communications, database management, and event coordination.
Responsibilities
- Social Media & Content Development
- Discover the latest social media trends and create high-quality, strategic, tailored and trending social media content for each platform. Coordinate those involved in any content and then film, edit and schedule the content.
- Create a strategic social media calendar that is aligned with the ACEI mission and vision and grows the ACEI’s brand awareness.
- Plan, coordinate, capture, edit and publish videos and write the accompanying article for the entrepreneur spotlight series on a monthly basis.
- Analyze and report on social media performance regularly to ensure that we are on track to reach our social media goals and interpret the results into actionable items.
- Communication & Writing
- Write blogs and evergreen articles that can be repurposed for the website and social media content on a regular basis.
- Develop a weekly student newsletter with the latest information and report on the performance of the newsletter.
- Develop a monthly alumni newsletter with the latest information and report on the performance of the newsletter.
- Database
- Collect and input data on each event that the Anderson Center hosts.
- Make continuous updates to data to ensure it’s the most accurate and up to date.
- Create reports and present findings based on the desired data and demographic of each event or activity.
- Events
- Assist in planning ACEI events including pre-event and post-event promotion.
- Attend all ACEI events and capture high-quality content that can be posted on social media.
- Create attendance forms and continue to monitor event attendance leading up to the event.
- Communicate with event participants when they register, leading up to the event, and post-event.
- Report on event success and performance after each event and each semester.
- Plan and coordinate regular outreach efforts on campus including information tabling in each college on campus regularly.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
- Experience with event coordination and social media content creation and publication (this experience can be in the form of an internship, part-time work, or other)
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Event coordination and social media content creation experience specifically in higher education
- Ability to work with colleagues to implement a strategic plan based on a shared vision
- Collaborative leadership style
- Excellent organizational and managerial skills
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Required:
- Ability to use tools of Adobe Suite
- InDesign for flyers, reports, etc.
- Illustration for logos, swag items (ex. Stickers), etc.
- Photoshop for campaign/social creative, email designs, etc.
- Lightroom for professional photo editing of all events
- Premiere Pro for professional video editing
- Photography and Videography skills with a professional camera
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Organizational skills for multiple projects and events running simultaneously
- Ability to utilize data sets to create data analysis and reporting
