Part-Time Instructor/Assistant Professor, General Practice Residency (GPR) Dentistry Program, Knoxville
Part-Time 80%
Responsibilities
- Non-tenure track, external search
- Helps residents develop presentations using photographs, PowerPoint and other computer skills;
- Helps develop and implement the program curriculum;
- Assists Program Director in the evaluation of resident training in affiliated institutions and off-service rotations;
- Provides clinical patient care as directed by Program Director;
- Provides direct supervision of residents in patient care, to include treatment planning, treatment, and follow-up care;
- Develops programs for resident instruction, to include lectures, seminars, and/or clinical demonstrations.
- Participate in educational activities of the department including advisory board meetings, faculty meetings, journal club, and clinical competency committee meetings
- Responsible for supervision of dental residents and staff, as assigned by the Program Director.
- Provides clinical patient care as directed by Program Director;
- Teaching residents including lecture, mentorship, and/or supervision in the clinic and OR.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Successful completion of a General Practice Residency Program or Advanced Education in General Dentistry program required.
Tennessee Dental License required.
Current DEA registration required.
CPR and BCLS certificate required.
Departmental Preferences:
Previous teaching and supervisory experience preferred.
Clinical experience in all areas of General Dentistry preferred.
