Salesforce Developer - Digital Learning at UT - UTK

Job Description

Supports the Digital Learning department by leading strategic efforts to implement and support Salesforce platforms. This position is responsible for leading solution architecture, configurations, development, release management and implementation of changes into the Salesforce platform. Responsible for research of new emerging technologies with regards to Salesforce Education Cloud, Data Cloud, and Marketing Cloud. Position will work in lockstep with Digital Learning’s units, campus partners, and external vendors to provide technical support in the implementation and support of the Salesforce platform.

Responsibilities

Technical

  • Researches, designs, and communicates solution architecture approach.
  • Leads solution architecture, configurations, development, release management and implementation of changes into the Salesforce platform.
  • Develops proof of concepts (POC) and changes to release into preproduction and production environments.
  • Peer review changes to ensure standards and best practices are met.
  • Develops and enforces standard operating procedures for release management and source control.
  • Creates documentation and testing plans.
  • Oversees User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and release training.
  • Provides troubleshooting and platform support

Analytical

  • Gathers information and analyzes business requirements to design scalable, effective solutions.
  • Utilizes problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and optimize system performance.
  • Data modeling and understanding how to structure data efficiently within Salesforce.
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of Salesforce implementations.
  • Analyze user feedback and system interaction patterns to improve the usability of Salesforce features.
  • Relay and implement recommendations based user feedback and system interaction patterns to improve the usability of Salesforce features
  • Anticipate challenges in system integrations or customizations and provide proactive solutions to team.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams, including administrators, stakeholders, and end-users, to align technical solutions with business needs.
  • Use effective communication to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Model team-oriented approach for working in Agile or Scrum environments.
  • Mentors and provides work direction to others.

Project Management & Adaptability

  • Utilization of project management methodologies to manage tasks and timelines efficiently.
  • Implement new Salesforce features or updates as they are released.
  • Prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Experience:
    • Knowledge of Salesforce Education Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud, and Mulesoft.
    • Five or more years of progressively responsible development experience in Salesforce.
    • Experience working in a higher education setting.
    • Understanding of ETL (extract, transform, load) technologies and practices.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, primarily Excel.
    • Demonstrated successful management of multiple short-term and long-term projects, independent completion of projects with accuracy, thoroughness and creativity, and timely meeting of deadlines under pressure.
    • Experience with complex data sets including manipulating, merging, restructuring and analyzing large data sets.

Work Location

  • Knoxville, TN. This position does have the potential for a hybrid working capacity.
