Video Production Specialist - Digital Learning at UT - UTK

Job Description

This position will support a growing media production team charged with supporting the university’s Strategic Vision to “provide high-quality, accessible, affordable, inclusive and life-long learning to the residents of Tennessee, and to students across the nation and around the world.” The incumbent will provide video production support for online course development and promotion, working with UTK’s world-class faculty to translate academic content to asynchronous multimedia. This role will also support media production in marketing efforts for Digital Learning.

Responsibilities

  • Assist producer as directed for video shoots
  • Provide set up and staging, including props and backdrops, and assuming primary responsibility for lighting
  • Operate cameras, teleprompters, and other equipment related to video production
  • Edit video using current software
  • Edit media and file formats in support of multiple delivery platforms
  • Design and produce motion and animated effects
  • Deliver produced content within established deadlines
  • Upload completed videos via Panopto into Canvas courses and create closed captions.
  • Display editorial and creative decision making while working independently on medium-to-large sized video and multimedia projects.
  • Educate and direct clients on the studio’s video production
  • Interact with both internal and external partners to determine scope of projects
  • Research and recommend hardware and software solutions
  • Hire, train, and supervise students
  • Ensure that produced content meets accessibility requirements as established by department
  • Promote and maintain an atmosphere of excellence in customer service, in both verbal and written communications
  • Maintain adherence to schedule in accordance with the business needs of the department.
  • Track equipment inventory
  • Stay current on video recording equipment.
  • Configure, troubleshoot, modify, and repair audio visual equipment/digital encoding equipment (cameras, microphones, mixers, video switcher, and network interface equipment).
  • Perform other job-related duties and special projects as assigned

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Associate’s Degree in graphic design, communications, video production, cinema studies, social sciences/humanities with at least 3 years of video production experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified

or

  • Bachelor’s Degree in graphic design, communications, video production, cinema studies, social sciences/humanities

Experience

  • Evidence of experience in the creation of video production assets, whether through full-time employment, internships/student work, freelance work, etc.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without need now or in the future for sponsorship for employment visa status.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience:

  • Familiarity with higher education work environment.
  • Small to medium-size creative agency experience

Compensation and Benefits

  • UT market range: MR 09
  • Hiring Range: $60,000-$62,000
