As the Mobility Coordinator, you’ll be at the forefront of UT’s Transportation Demand Management (TDM) strategy—designing and implementing smart, sustainable programs to reduce traffic congestion and improve access for students, faculty, and staff. You’ll work with campus and community partners to promote biking, walking, transit, carpooling, and other alternative transportation modes.

Responsibilities

Mobility Program Development & Implementation:

  • Design and implement TDM strategies that align with the university’s parking and mobility objectives.
  • Develop and manage alternative transportation incentive programs, including carpooling, transit subsidies, bike-share programs, and vanpool initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with transit agencies, local government, and mobility service providers to enhance commuter options.
  • Monitor program effectiveness and recommend data-driven improvements.
  • Manage program budgets, ensure compliance with financial policies, and oversee program expenditures.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Collect and analyze transportation data, commuter patterns, and parking utilization trends.
  • Track program metrics and prepare performance reports for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Conduct transportation surveys and assessments to evaluate campus mobility trends.
  • Generate recommendations based on data findings to support parking and mobility policy changes.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in TDM and campus transportation.

Education, Marketing & Outreach:

  • Develop marketing campaigns to promote sustainable transportation options to students, faculty, and staff.
  • Create educational materials, website content, and program-related communications.
  • Conduct outreach and presentations to campus groups, departments, and student organizations.
  • Manage social media and digital communication strategies to increase program awareness.
  • Organize transportation fairs, bike-to-work days, and other commuter engagement activities.

Campus & Community Coordination:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for alternative transportation programs and commuter assistance.
  • Build relationships with university departments, student organizations, and external agencies to align transportation efforts.
  • Coordinate with local transit agencies and municipal planning offices to advocate for campus-friendly transit solutions.
  • Participate in transportation planning committees and represent the department at stakeholder meetings.
  • Respond to commuter questions, concerns, and program inquiries.

Administrative Support & Special Projects:

  • Maintain detailed program documentation, policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Process reimbursements and manage incentive program applications.
  • Coordinate vendor contracts and agreements related to sustainable transportation services.
  • Support Parking & Transportation Services initiatives, including special projects and campus mobility studies.
  • Prepare administrative reports, grant applications, and correspondence.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in sustainable transportation, parking services, or mobility programs.
  • Strong understanding of transportation demand management principles and sustainable mobility strategies.
  • Ability to analyze transportation data and develop data-driven program recommendations.
  • Experience designing and implementing alternative transportation initiatives.
  • Proficiency in stakeholder engagement, public speaking, and commuter outreach.
  • Knowledge of university parking operations, mobility planning, and policy development.
  • Ability to manage marketing campaigns and develop educational materials.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with GIS mapping, transportation modeling software, and data visualization tools.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and flexibility to attend occasional evening or weekend events.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without need now or in the future for sponsorship for employment visa status.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree
  • 5–7 years of experience in a large institutional or higher education setting.
  • Experience working in a university, municipal government, or large institutional setting.
  • Familiarity with tools like GIS, data visualization, or transportation modeling is a plus.
  • Certification in TDM (e.g., TDM-CP) or related fields.
  • Experience with grant writing and funding proposals for transportation programs.
