JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The IT Administrator 3 manages and ensures the integrity of clinical and non-clinical enterprise data of the UT Graduate School of Medicine (GSM). This position requires server and infrastructure management of complex data systems On Premise and in the Cloud. This position designs and proposes backup and disaster recovery solutions and virtual work environments. Independent analysis and problem-solving is performed daily.

Responsibilities

  1. Builds, updates, and preserves data on servers including VMWare, Citrix XenApp, Citrix Provisioning Services, Citrix XenDesktop, and Storage Area Network.
  2. Performs Windows servers ongoing maintenance including upgrades and security updates – database, web, application, and file sharing.
  3. Creates and maintains security policies that include GPO and other agent configuration changes.
  4. Implements environment changes to comply with UHS security requirements
  5. Research the latest industry standards to ensure current systems are sustainable.
  6. Ensures licensing agreement is current.
  7. Supports GSM’s patient clinics by providing upgrade support, patient data back-up/restore, troubleshooting, and serves as a technical liaison with the EMR/Billing vendors.
  8. Participates in planning meetings to anticipate security changes effects to all GSM users.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of experience working with systems infrastructure containing physical and virtual environments. (Microsoft Azure certification preferred.)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of complex data structures and inter-workings of network systems.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction/supervision.
  • Ability to communicate needs and use cases to other teams, such as IT security.
  • Knowledge of working in a Hybrid environment of on-prem and cloud.
  • Ability to work with technical vendors for procuring solutions and product licensing.
