Job Description
Parking Attendants are responsible for overseeing the event operations of a parking facility or lot, ensuring the efficient and safe parking of vehicles, and providing excellent customer service to all patrons. This role involves monitoring parking areas, directing traffic, collecting fees, and ensuring compliance with parking regulations.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Direct drivers to available parking spaces and manage the flow of traffic within the parking area.
- Monitor parked vehicles to ensure compliance with facility rules and time limits.
- Collect parking fees.
- Operate manual payment systems.
- Maintain the safety of the parking facility, reporting any hazards or maintenance needs.
- Provide information and assistance to customers regarding parking policies, directions, or facility services.
- Enforce parking rules and escalate issues to security or management when appropriate.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Good Communication and Customer Service Skills.
- Ability to work independently and remain attentive to surroundings.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and work outdoors for extended periods, including rain, snow, sleet, etc.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays due to the campus event schedule.
Work Location
- Position is on-site and located in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Compensation
- Anticipated hiring range: $15.00 per hour
About The College/Department/Division
Special Events is a department within Parking & Transportation located on the University of Tennessee, Knoxville Campus. Special Events supports the parking operation for special events on campus, including all athletic and departmental events.
