Job Description

Reporting to the Executive Director of Learner Services, the Director of Online Recruitment provides leadership, direction, and strategic expertise for all online recruitment initiatives within Digital Learning. This includes leading our online recruitment team, which is charged with optimizing the online student experience from lead to confirmation while meeting recruitment, admission and yield objectives. The director serves as a member of the Learner Services leadership team providing expertise, advocacy and counsel on matters impacting online recruitment and enrollment services. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing complex projects, leading the recruitment team, and ensuring the overall delivery of services. The director’s work will play a critical role in fulfilling UT’s commitment to reducing barriers to education, supporting an inclusive campus and building a sense of belonging for all learners.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and expertise to design and implement strategic initiatives that directly advance the University’s enrollment goals for UT online undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive recruitment and outreach strategies aimed at growing enrollment across the portfolio
  • Leverage data analytics to constantly monitor and respond to health of enrollment funnels, team and individual performance
  • Collaborate with enrollment communications, marketing and technology/data teams in Digital Learning to initiate and develop integrated enrollment marketing strategies and campaigns
  • Recruit, hire, train, develop, supervise, and evaluate sta to meet all metrics and student-focused recruitment initiatives
  • Build, mentor and lead a student-centered enrollment coach team, establishing a culture focused on collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities for recruitment team
  • Empower the recruitment team to effectively assess and address the health of the inquiry and applicant pools and to achieve performance goals
  • Oversees assessment and evaluation in all areas of responsibility: Develops outcomes and goals for recruitment in consult with Executive Director, as well as assessment and tracking mechanisms.
  • Develops and analyzes reports related to the day-to-day operations and overall productivity of the team to improve accuracy in forecasts and to drive performance.
  • Initiates and prepares administrative reports and documents.
  • Represent the Executive Director Learner Services as deputy in her absence as needed
  • Monitors compliance with university and department policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with units across campus including the Division of Enrollment Management, the Division of Student Success the Graduate School, and individual academic units to develop and continually improve processes and enrollment support for online students.
  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with key campus stakeholders through regular communication, meetings, and collaborative initiatives

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 6 years of related administrative experience which includes 3 years of supervisory experience

Or,

  • Ten years of related administrative experience, which includes 3 years of supervisory experience

Or,

  • Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree
  • Experience with online student recruitment
  • Experience with Slate or Salesforce

Work Location

  • Knoxville, TN
  • This position would ideally function in an in-person/hybrid working capacity but fully remote could be an option for the ideal candidate.

Compensation and Benefits

  • UT market range: MR 13
  • Hiring Range: $100,000 - $110,000 per year, commensurate with experience
