THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN KNOXVILLE, TN
JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Administrative Associate 2 is a member of the University Family Physicians billing staff. This position processes patient and insurance payments, refunds, and monitors the accounts receivable for timely payments of all claims.
Responsibilities
- Performs data entry of charges from the office, hospital, and wound care settings.
- Transmits charges and patient statements to the clearinghouse.
- Handles UHN encounter form audits.
- Provides customer service to patients regarding their accounts and balances.
- Performs data entry of insurance and patient payments.
- Processes encounters and completes the daily missing ticket report.
- Collects patient payments and sets up payment plans.
- Processes patient refunds.
- Assists with data entry of patient charges.
- Covers various positions in the front office; assists with insurance and billing questions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of medical office experience; OR Associate’s Degree in lieu of experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including oral, written, and listening skills.
- Ability to multitask in a busy work environment.
- Skill in data entry.
- Knowledge and ability to work in Microsoft Office.
