Job Description
The Office of Undergraduate Admissions at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK) invites applications and nominations for our temporary Student Services Specialist position. We are seeking candidates who can contribute in meaningful ways to enhance the accessibility of higher education, fostering a diverse and inclusive academic environment, and improving the recruitment and graduation of our students. The salary for this position is $16.83 hourly.
Hiring for multiple positions.
We are seeking a temporary employee to work 25-40 hours per week. This is an on-campus position with some hybrid/remote work schedule flexibility after training.
Responsibilities
The purpose of this position is to evaluate credentials submitted for admission applications. Review applications to determine file completion and accuracy by the applicant and assist other staff members.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
High school diploma
• Experience working in a fast-paced office environment, multi-tasking and time management.
• Minimal exposure to several up-to-date computer software programs such as Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, CollegeNet, Banner, Slate, OnBase software.
• Experience in a college administration environment is helpful.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Basic office technology, ability to type at a computer for lengths of time, using fundamental arithmetic, public relations, time management, multi-tasking, stress management, and being very team oriented.

The Enrollment Management (EM) division comprises more than 190 full-time staff who serve our students through the following departments and functions: Undergraduate Admissions, International Recruitment, Transfer Center, One Stop Student Services, Financial Aid and Scholarships, the Center for Financial Wellness, University Registrar, Pre-college Research Excellence Programs, EM Research & Analytics, EM Communications, and EM Operations.
