This is a PRN (scheduled as needed) position for a Tennessee licensed Registered Nurse at Vine School Health Center that is a school-based health center. Vine School Health Center is a collaboration between The University of Tennessee, College of Nursing and Knox County Schools. The clinic hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 am-4:30 pm. The position reports to the center Director. The PRN RN position is expected to provide nursing skills to the ability of their licensure and at the direction of an advanced medical licensed professional. The practice setting is in an ambulatory clinic located on Knox County school property.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program, BSN preferred
  • Current active RN license in Tennessee
  • Minimum of 1 year pediatric or school nursing experience
  • Basic Life Support certification required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic human anatomy; understanding of the scope and limitations of a nursing license; and the ability to effectively apply infection control practices in a healthcare setting.
  • Ability to type and utilize a Windows based computer system.

  • Ability to administer injections.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BSN

Work Location: Knoxville, TN – onsite at the Vine School Health Center

Compensation:

  • Anticipated hiring range: $30/hr. - $33/hr.
