The University of Tennessee Foundation, Inc (UTFI) invites applications and nominations to fill the position of Financial Specialist. Reporting to the Executive Director of Accounting and Finance Operations, the Financial Specialist is responsible for assisting in providing fiduciary oversight to the University of Tennessee Foundation.

Required Education and Experience

The candidate who fills the Financial Specialist position is required to have:

  • Associate’s degree with a minimum of 6 months of experience in an office environment

Preferred Education and Experience

In addition to meeting the required qualifications, the preferred candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Accounting

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Operations and Stakeholder Support: Daily personal interaction and communication with peers and staff members. This includes active listening and providing clear and concise communication. Monitor the business office email inbox.

Procurement Cards: Entry of system-wide procurement card statements into Oracle ERP . This includes reviewing and assigning GL accounts.

Accounts Payable: Review invoices for compliance to fiscal policy and accurately enter into Oracle ERP.

Travel Reimbursements: Assist with expense auditing as needed to avoid duplication of reimbursements and ensure employee compliance to fiscal policy.
