This is a temporary Monday through Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM, in-office position to support the Office of Institutional Effectiveness through June 30, 2026. Provides temporary administrative support to the Associate Vice Provost (AVP) and the Office of Institutional Effectiveness (IE), including time-sensitive coordination and committee support, to ensure continuity of operations during a staffing transition.

Experience working in an administrative office.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite programs.
Required Qualifications
Education: High School Graduate
Experience: 1-2 years of administrative office experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite programs
Preferred Qualifications
Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree
Experience: 1-2 years working in higher education
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Familiarity with the University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s organizational structure and its relationship to the UT System; knowledge of DASH, or the ability and willingness to quickly become proficient.

About The College/Department/Division
The IE department actively pursues academic excellence and the improvement of student learning through collaboration and innovation. To accomplish this, we offer consistent support for planning and assessment; respond quickly to internal requests and external mandates, provide thorough and accurate data and information, communicate clearly and effectively, and approach situations in a fair and impartial way.
Provides day-to-day administrative support to the AVP and IE staff during a staffing transition. Handles time-sensitive and confidential materials; drafts/updates communications for review; manages scheduling and document coordination. Completes administrative unit functions including purchasing and travel processing.
Coordinates meetings for IE-supported groups (and others as assigned) to include room reservations, catering, equipment, and communications. Maintains associated resources and files; prepares and circulates notes/minutes as needed.
Provides project support for IE staff members, as directed by the AVP, to maintain continuity of services during the temporary assignment.
