The University of Tennessee Foundation, Inc (UTFI) invites applications and nominations to fill the position of Business Intelligence Coordinator. Reporting to the Director of Business Intelligence, the Business Intelligence Coordinator is responsible for supporting the mission and goals of UTFI by designing and delivering data reporting solutions that inform decision-making across Advancement.
This role will serve as a key resource for reporting needs and contributes to the continuous improvement of business intelligence practices and tools.

Required Education and Experience
The candidate who fills the Business Intelligence Coordinator position is required to have:
Bachelor’s degree
1+ years of experience using SQL, Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, Visual Studio
Familiarity with reporting tools such as Microsoft SSRS, and visualization tools such as Microsoft Power BI or Tableau
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to express ideas and effective story-telling through data, reports and dashboards.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
Experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Excellent analytical, quantitative, and computer skills and be highly proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly, Excel)
Experience in version control software such as GitHub
A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is required due to travel responsibilities of the position. UTFI reserves the right to consider all appropriate circumstances. In general, any significant driving offense less than 12 months old will eliminate the application from consideration for the position.
Preferred Education and Experience
In addition to meeting the required qualifications, the preferred candidate will have:
Strong knowledge of statistical and accounting principles and concepts

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Analytics and Reporting: Develop and maintain SQL queries, reports, and dashboards to meet recurring and ad hoc business needs, determining appropriate data sources and reporting methods. Analyze reporting requirements and translate business needs into effective data solutions with minimal oversight. Validate and ensure the accuracy of data presented in reports by applying data governance standards and identifying discrepancies. Review and provide feedback on peer-developed queries and reports to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Data Processes and Infrastructure: Support the development and maintenance of data structures (e.g., tables, views, stored procedures) to enhance reporting capabilities. Contribute to the design and improvement of reporting processes, including automation, scheduling, and delivery. Apply judgment in identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and improve data accessibility. Assist in testing and validating updates to data structures and dashboards, ensuring alignment with reporting standards.
Collaboration and Continuous Improvement: Serve as a point of contact for routine reporting inquiries, providing guidance and resolving issues independently when appropriate. Escalate complex issues while recommending potential solutions or approaches. Contribute ideas for improving business intelligence tools, reporting strategies, and team processes. Support the ongoing development of the Business Intelligence function through collaboration and knowledge sharing.
